On our way to the inaugural parade, Canine Companions for Independence rode in school buses. I couldn’t resist this shot!
Of course, one of the most exciting moments of the parade was passing by the presidential viewing stand. Both President Obama and Vice President Biden waved at the group, much to our glee!
Marching with Canine Companions for Independence in the 2013 Inaugural Parade was an incredible opportunity. The organization provides assistance dogs to children and adults with disabilities.
Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), an organization about which I have posted previously, marched in President Obama’s second Inaugural Parade, and I was fortunate enough to be their photographer. CCI provides highly-trained assistance dogs for children and adults with disabilities, free of charge. The organization has meant a lot to my family, as it has provided my sister Caroline with her best friend, Sajen. To learn more about the organization and how you you can help (for example, by raising a puppy), visit their website: www.cci.org.
